14ct Gold Filled Rope Chain
Last chance before I stop offering this golden rope chain…
Well, I’ve sourced these gold-filled chains to be a great alternative to solid gold chains. They’re a snip of the price of solid gold chains, and they’re very durable and will wear, and last similarly to gold.
Gold filled is very different to gold plate. The gold is pressure bonded onto the base metal surface, rather than just electroplated on the top. This gold bond is much thicker than plate, and the 14ct gold of this chain makes up 5% of the total piece.
These chains are strong enough for my amulets but delicate enough for everyday wear and some delicious layering. The rope chain style has been a classic for my amulets, and whilst before I only had gold plated chains, these babies will last so well in comparison! I love the look of the rope style alongside the ancient-inspired pendants especially, as it reminds me of Byzantine woven chains and twisted Roman cords.
