Duelling Sword Necklace

Duelling Sword Necklace
Duelling Sword Necklace
Inspired by a European duelling sword from the 19th century, and a bare-breasted sword fight between a Countess and a Princess. I originally made this piece for a collaboration with Renli Su, and now it’s reworked and available to be your chunky talisman.
Details:
I hand-carved this sword from jewellers wax and had it cast into raw golden brass. It’s looped upon a vintage brass belcher chain and you can slide it off to use it for a lil topless sword-fight! ;)
Choose from 16 - 24 inches in length!
It’s fastened with a large round bolt clasp which clips onto the dog clasp at the opposite end.
This design can be made from recycled sterling silver upon request - please email roo@museeroo.co.uk for a quote.
I have a few of these already cast & ready to be assembled but then they shall be made to order which will take up to 4 weeks.
Care:
This hefty amulet and the chain are both made from brass! Brass is a gorgeous golden material and a brilliant alternative to solid gold as it will always buff back to being golden and bright. Brass is a base metal composed of copper and zinc and it does naturally oxidise and darken over time. It requires some maintenance to keep it clean or to shine it up for a special occasion.
The care card in your order and white foam polishing pad provided will help you maintain your brass jewellery. You can also buy brass dip and brass wire brushes to scrub across the chain to lift any oxidation. If you ever want to have your piece plated in Fairmined Gold, that can be organised! :)
It’s best to remove this piece whilst swimming and bathing as water will encourage oxidation. Perfumes, creams and lotions will also affect the colour, however it’s easy enough to clean up if you need to.
