Mother-of-Pearl Charm Necklace

An Amuletic Charm Necklace featuring a host of reclaimed and vintage mother-of-pearl charms and beads. I should be able to make two of these! ;)

About:

This golden chain is adorned with an assortment of reclaimed precious mother-of-pearl charms and beads. It’s a lucky token, a journey, a protective apotropaic piece of art to be worn. It’s dotted with stones, gems and pearls from faraway lands and seas. These precious beads have travelled far and wide. This little magpie (me) has been collecting them, hoarding them and now I’ve chosen my favourites, wrapped them in fine wire and turned them into individual amuletic charms.

Details:

• Necklace chain made from 14ct Filled Gold - a thick layer of gold is pressure bonded onto base metal. Filled gold is an affordable alternative to solid gold & it wears similarly. It’s a more durable alternative to gold plate or vermeil.

• All the mother-of-pearl charms are unique and might show signs of age - some of them are pretty old! :)
