Hermes Foot.

In Classical mythology, Hermes is the messenger of the gods. His winged feet allow him to come and go between the mortal world and the world of the gods.

I sculpted this large foot pendant in the summer of 2020, as part of the early stages of my MArts History project. I studied and sculpted a series of anatomical amulets - but this foot has to be one of my favourites.

It’s a chunkier amulet, and probably best worn on a strong chain around the neck.

Details:

• A sculptural winged foot pendant.

• Carved from wax and then cast into metal.

• Available in raw golden brass or heavy hallmarked recycled 925 sterling silver.

• The sterling silver piece is heavy and has been hallmarked by the London Assay Office.

• About 5cm by 2cm.

• A bale (loop) of about 5mm to thread a chain through the amulet.
