Recycled Silver Phalloi Ring

Recycled Silver Phalloi Ring
The Phalloi Ring
A winky for your pinky…
Boys in Ancient Rome wore Phallic signet rings as apotropaic jewels, to protect them from witchcraft and the evil eye. The phallus represents the deity Fascinus who was a protector of children. The phallic symbol evoked his protection, and the crude symbol was believed to scare away the nasties.
I love this little phallic ring. I spotted a series of solid gold originals in the British Museum 6 years ago, and I just had to make and have one. I’ve worn it as a pinky ring for years. The willy usually goes unnoticed, but it’s a great little tale to tell if it does catch some attention.
