Memento Mori Ring

Memento Mori Ring
Memento Mori
A last chance to buy the Memento Mori ring.
A Memento Mori is an art object designed to remind the viewer (or wearer) of their own mortality. It’s a nudge for them to follow their dreams, love wholeheartedly, and have some fun.
Memento Mori is rooted in classical antiquity and has since been adopted and developed across millennia. A duo of Medieval Memento Mori rings inspired this ring.
Each of the carved skulls stacked around this ring have their own personality. This ring is tactile and ridged, and reminiscent of the rosary rings which became popular in the Medieval period. Rosary rings (still used today) invite the wearer to recite meditative prayers as they stroke the beaded notches around the ring. I like the idea that this ring can be used in a similar way. You can run your fingers across the skulls and in those moments take a deep breath, meditate on the present, and remember to embrace life wholeheartedly.
Details:
Choose from Raw Brass, Fairmined Gold Plated Brass or Recycled Sterling Silver.
Made to order in your size. Please allow 4 weeks for these to be adjusted in wax, cast and then polished. Allow an additional 3 weeks for Fairmined Gold plating.
Made by hand and cast in the UK. No two pieces are exactly the same.
Please be 100% sure of your size as I make these to order.
I adjust and size the rings in wax before casting. Raw Brass and Recycled Silver rings can be resized for a fee of £35. It’s easier to go up in size and a longer process to reduce rings. Gold plated rings cannot be resized as the heat of soldering will strip off the precious Fairmined Gold.
Care:
Silver will naturally oxidise and darken . To keep it super shiny and bright, polish with the polishing cloth enclosed within your order, and swot up on the care card included.
