I carved this signet from wax in 2019 and it was one of the first rings I made. I’m going to be developing a collection of solid gold rings, and I won’t be offering this design in brass again.
This ring has been inspired by a host of Classical signet rings. It’s meant to look molten, worn, and as if it has travelled through millennia and been unearthed. With its rectangular form it’s a statement signet, yet super easy for everyday.

A molten rectangular signet ring design.
Choose from Raw Brass, Fairmined Gold Plated Brass or Recycled Sterling Silver.
Made to order in your size. Please allow 4 weeks for these to be adjusted in wax, cast and then polished. Allow an additional 3 weeks for Fairmined Gold plating.
Made by hand and cast in the UK. No two pieces are exactly the same.

I adjust and size the rings in wax before casting. Raw Brass and Recycled Silver rings can be resized for a fee of £35. It’s easier to go up in size and a longer process to reduce rings. Gold plated rings cannot be resized as the heat of soldering will strip off the precious Fairmined Gold.
Signet rings are traditionally used to stamp a signature onto the seal of a letter, document, or package. The signature could be a name, a matrix seal, imagery or insignia, and they provide reliable provenance to the recipient. Many Classical signet rings depict engraved illustrations of deities, but some survive the archaeological record bare and worn like this rectangular signet.
Handmade:
This signet ring has been carved from a piece of solid wax and then gently melted and softened over a flame to create a textured, porous but smooth finish. This piece is made in the UK using the ancient art of lost wax casting. Each ring will be ever so slightly unique, as they’re expertly cast in the UK, from responsibly sourced materials, and finished by hand.
Care:
Brass and silver will naturally oxidise and darken. To keep your ring shiny and bright, polish with the polishing cloth, and read the care card, both enclosed within your order. Fairmined Gold plated pieces will need additional care. Follow the instructions in your order to polish and prolong the life of the gold coating.
